Interesting, thought provoking and intelligently written. This book takes you into the authors life since before the start of the Covid years. I like the way the book flits between current life and the history of their crazy house purchase
Their determination to buy the right property (I think I’d have given up) and what they have learned along the way in terms of physically purchasing in the uk in Ireland may lead to a new consultancy!

Set against the backdrop of the Scottish Borders and punctuated by the trials and
triumphs of restoring a historic property, this narrative is both deeply personal and universally relatable. Through
evocative prose, the author captures the essence of perseverance, the beauty of reinvention, and the profound
connection between place and identity.
London Book Publishers Review
Lister's writing is imbued with a sense of humor and warmth, even as she describes the physical and mental exhaustion of their quest. The descriptions of their new home, the old Teindside Farm House, are particularly enchanting. Lister captures the transformation of the neglected property into a vibrant living space. Her observations of the surrounding nature, from the vivid greens of spring to the wildlife that inhabits their land, evoke a sense of peace and connection to the environment that many readers will find inspiring.

About Rosi Lister
Rosi Lister has had a thirty-year career in art and design education and heritage management. The daughter of an award winning modernist architect father and theologian mother, she grew up in a bohemian household with three siblings, rather surprisingly, in a very rural east-riding village of Yorkshire. At the age of fifty-seven, as a result of a number of life-changing and coalescing factors, Rosi threw it all in, took early retirement and bought a Georgian doer-upper in Scotland, where she now lives with partner Ant and their Jack Russell Tig in a state of ongoing creative chaos.
